Welcome

Hello and a warm welcome to my website.

My name is Hardeep Singh (“Deep” to my friends). I have been trading and investing for over 25 years, and manage not only my Pensions pots, but also a day-trading pot and a Property Company.

I used to work in IT as a Programme Test Manager, but sort of retired from that. I say “sort of” because I do take the odd contract now and again, mainly to help people I have met throughout my working journey.

How I Started

I came across trading a little by accident. Around 25 years ago, one member of my team was a Bond Trader and we started chatting. He wanted to see if he could make a better return on his investment that his Cash ISA did. It was a simple, measurable challenge and over the course of the year he made double what his Cash ISA was offering (back then it was around 4% per annum). That really got me intrigued, and hooked, and I started to research and learn about trading.

I started to see what ways I could make money quicker than the traditional investment route. I should stress that my Trading is only a part of what I do. I also do a lot of investing, especially with my Pension.

Around the same time we moved house and a week later I was made redundant!. That meant I was home whilst looking for a new job. What it also meant was that I had time to research some more and I started watching Bloomberg TV. I still remember a guest on the “Chart Show” who pulled up a share chart and drew some horizontal and diagonal lines like a man possessed and made some wild predictions on what “might” happen over the coming weeks. He was invited back to see if what he said was right or not and as luck would have it, he was right. So I asked myself “HOW???”. How did this guy manage to do that, and if he can then so can I. It’s just a matter of learning, understanding and practising.

One thing the guy on Bloomberg TV kept saying was “Technical Analysis”. So I bought some books and never looked back.

I decided to borrow my friend’s challenge and see if I could make a better return than my Cash ISA. I didn’t understand Bonds, so I chose shares and chose to Spreadbet.
(Simply put, Spread Betting allows you to speculate on whether the price of a market or share will rise or fall without owning the underlying asset).

It was a steep and harsh learning curve and what I soon figured out was there was more psychology to this than I thought. Fear and Greed is incredible and can really influence your thought process, to the point of inaction.

Why I Trade?

I got hooked on Technical Analysis, as the fundamental premise is that the news is already built into the chart. The price starts moving before the news is released. This is mainly because the large institutions get wind of what’s coming up and make the move first. Once the news is released, everyone else makes the move, however the institutions are already ahead. So what Technical Analysis provided me was a “forward” view as to what “Might” happen.

Over the years, the money I have made from Spread Betting has paid for all the gadgets and electronics (TVs, Playstations, Laptops, iPads, etc),as well as for some lovely holidays, which is a great feeling.

Then when COVID hit and we were all working from home, I was lucky enough to be able to trade during the working day, which allowed me to hone my day-trading skills and techniques, to the point where I was making more from my trading than my salary. That was a real turning point for me.

How I Trade

I am more than happy to share what and how I trade, but it’s not for the faint hearted. If you’re starting out from a point of little or no investment experience, then some of the ideas and techniques may be difficult to grasp.

I am teaching a lady to trade and it took her around a year to fully grasp the techniques and find her way. She started with zero investment knowledge and is now making a 4 figure sum per month. It was a tough journey with lots of learning and challenges, and whilst it may not be for everyone, it is achievable.

There’s so much to go through and it would take me a long time to write it all here. I’d rather help on a more personal basis, so please take a look around this site and the various pages at your leisure. If it sparks an interest in understanding the world of Investing and Trading then please reach out and let’s have a chat.

I do not advertise, but happy to help those who are looking to help themselves.

With Love and gratitude,

Deep
